Emma Stone dazzled in a delightful fashion choice as she stepped out to commemorate the landmark 50th anniversary of "Saturday Night Live"! The 36-year-old Oscar-adorned actress graced the red carpet for "SNL50: The Anniversary Special" in New York City on Sunday, February 16th, hand-in-hand with her spouse and former "SNL" scribe, Dave McCary. Donning an iconic ensemble, she added an unexpected twist – a built-in snack for the evening.
Stone struck poses for the paparazzi (and indulged in a bucket of popcorn) while enveloped in a bespoke, floor-sweeping Louis Vuitton gown in a bold red hue, complete with two hidden pockets brimming with the savory treat. She complemented the dress with matching crimson heels and her chic new pixie haircut.
McCary, 39, accompanied Stone to celebrate the iconic sketch comedy show, which premiered in 1975 and was being feted with a three-hour special broadcast on NBC. A plethora of "SNL's" legendary cast members were set to reunite at Studio 8H for the live spectacle, among them Bill Murray, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Jimmy Fallon, Chevy Chase, and many more.
Stone and McCary share their own heartwarming tale linked to the program. Their love story began in 2016 when Stone, who hosted "SNL" that December, starred in the sketch "Wells for Boys" directed by McCary. The couple announced their engagement on December 4th, 2019, and sources later confirmed to PEOPLE that they tied the knot in 2020. They welcomed their firstborn, daughter Louise Jean, in 2021.
Stone is also an esteemed member of the prestigious Five-Timers Club, an exclusive fraternity of stars who have hosted "SNL" at least five times. Other luminaries in this elite group include Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Melissa McCarthy, and others. Stone, who joined the club at the age of 35 in December 2023, holds the distinction of being its youngest member.
"This is amazing," Stone exclaimed during her opening monologue. "Honestly, this has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. And it means the world to share this moment with you all. So, thank you." "SNL50: The Anniversary Special" aired on Sunday, February 16th, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
