Drawing inspiration from a haunting tale by Nigel Campbell, Marcille, currently dazzling as Marilyn "Madam" DeVille in BET's All the Queen's Men, embodies Alicia, a fierce mother who battles relentlessly to safeguard herself and her beloved son Malcolm from the sinister clutches of her ex-husband Victor, played by the charismatic Lepley, upon his release from prison. When Alicia resolutely rejects Victor's deceitful overtures for reconciliation, he descends into madness, burying her alive in a desperate bid to silence her forever.

Yet, Alicia's indomitable spirit refuses to be extinguished. With a will of iron, she claws her way out of the suffocating earth, emerging as a symbol of resilience and determination. Her triumphant escape, however, marks merely the beginning of a relentless pursuit as she embarks on a perilous journey to find her son, navigating a treacherous landscape where Victor's murderous obsession looms large, determined to eliminate any obstacle in his path.

Produced by Swirl Films exclusively for Lifetime, Buried Alive and Survived boasts an impressive creative team, with Abbey Sibucao, Ron Robinson, and Eric Tomosunas at the helm as executive producers. Under the deft direction of Manu Boyer, who previously captivated audiences with Girl in the Basement, the teleplay, penned by Gregory Small and Richard Blaney, weaves a tale of survival, love, and the indomitable human spirit.
