Former Pittsburgh Steelers sensation Le'Veon Bell has once again taken to social media to fiercely defend billionaire Elon Musk against his critics, this time amidst Musk's controversial appointment as a key advisor for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk has faced a barrage of scrutiny for his new role, which entails leading the DOGE team in identifying strategies to slash government expenditures, among various other mandates.

Earlier in the week, Bell had already come to the defense of both Musk and President Donald Trump, and he wasn't done yet when it came to voicing his support for the CEO of X, SpaceX, and Tesla. "Picture this: logging onto this platform just to label Elon Musk as 'stupid,'" penned the retired NFL running back in his post. "The same visionary who owns this very app and is literally sending rockets soaring into the heavens... Yet, we have individuals who spend their entire day parked on this app, accomplishing absolutely nothing except griping about Elon Musk... lol, this world is truly cooked, COOKED."

On Tuesday, DOGE announced it had managed to achieve savings estimated at approximately $65 billion. These savings, according to DOGE, stemmed from a "melting pot of fraud detection and eradication, contract and lease terminations, renegotiations, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic adjustments, and regulatory efficiencies."

"We are endeavoring to upload all pertinent data in a concise and utterly transparent format, accompanied by clear assumptions and in adherence to all pertinent rules and regulations," DOGE stated on its website.

However, Musk stirred up resentment among federal employees due to an email inquiry regarding their work contributions. When questioned about this email request on Tuesday, Trump remarked, "It's somewhat voluntary," adding with a hint of levity, "If you don't respond, I suppose you're out of a job."

The controversy lingered into a House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing, where a Democratic representative referred to Musk as the president and Trump as the "grifting-in-chief."
