Lindsey Buckingham, a former member of Fleetwood Mac, has been the victim of a distressing incident. According to multiple law enforcement sources, Buckingham was attacked by a woman while attending an appointment in Santa Monica, California, on April 1st. Although Buckingham was not physically injured in the incident, the woman threw an unidentified substance on the 76-year-old as he entered a building before fleeing the scene.
Authorities have described the woman, who has not been publicly identified, as a "stalking suspect." According to NBC4 Investigates, citing their law enforcement sources, the woman is known to Buckingham "from past incidents" and is expected to be arrested soon. E! News has reached out to both police and Buckingham's representative for comment but has not yet received a response.

Since his departure from Fleetwood Mac in 2018 due to disagreements within the band, Buckingham, who shares three children with Kristen Messner, has kept a low profile. However, he recently joined forces with bandmate and ex-girlfriend Stevie Nicks to release a remastered version of their eponymous Buckingham Nicks album. The band they performed together before joining Fleetwood Mac.
Before their Grammy-winning success in the band, Buckingham and Nicks were part of a group called Fritz. While they eventually disbanded, Lindsey explained on an October episode of the Song Exploder podcast that "it became a catalyst for Stevie and me to bond in a different way." Nicks added during the joint appearance that "We probably never would have even had a relationship had it not been that we had to fire the rest of our band."
Despite their tumultuous relationship, which lasted from 1972 to 1976, the 77-year-old detailed why they stuck together through it all. "Our relationship was up and down and difficult," she said. "But at the same time fantastic." As Nicks put it, "And what we were doing was so fantastic, that it was worth putting up with the trials and tribulations of a relationship that’s difficult."
