"The amount of abuse I received for my relationship was insane, all because of an age gap," Florence candidly stated during her appearance on the latest Louis Theroux podcast on November 10th. She emphasized that she "stood up for it, for him, and for myself, just being allowed to do whatever I wanted to do. That actually did change a few people's minds."
The "Little Women" actress further declared, "I will always defend the people I love and stand by them." She emphasized that in the world of relationships and romance, it doesn't matter how much or how little one speaks about it; people simply don't care.
In the same interview, Florence noted that social media played a significant role in fueling the online debate, which often resulted in "an insane amount of abuse being hurled at my relationship just because there was an age gap." She added, "It got to a point where it was just really horrible to see someone you're with receiving that kind of treatment."
