Caterina Murino is expecting a bundle of joy! The 47-year-old former Bond Girl, who captivated audiences in the 2006 James Bond film 'Casino Royale' alongside Daniel Craig, has revealed her thrilling pregnancy journey to French magazine Gala. After facing challenges with in-vitro fertilization (IVF), Murino shared, "At my age, I had to seek medical assistance to help nature take its course. Becoming a mother doesn't always happen at the time you envision."

The actress disclosed to the publication that she and her partner of eight years, French lawyer Édouard Rigaud, are anticipating the arrival of a baby boy later this summer, just before her 48th birthday in September. Murino and Rigaud, who met in 2019 and reside in the charming Montmartre district of Paris, have been through a tough road to conception, including two miscarriages and a grueling IVF process. Rigaud has been a pillar of support throughout Murino's journey.

According to Cleveland Clinic, IVF involves fertilizing eggs outside the body to form embryos, which are then transferred into the uterus in hopes of implantation and the beginning of a pregnancy. Despite the obstacles Murino faced, she expressed gratitude for embarking on this new chapter of parenthood. She told Gala, "So far, my pregnancy has been relatively smooth sailing. I haven't experienced any discomfort, diabetes, or insomnia."

Murino also gushed about her pregnancy during an interview with Italian outlet Costa Smeralda on July 2. "I'm living a magical moment," she enthused. "Soon, I'll become a mother, and I believe we all bear a great responsibility today: to raise conscious, compassionate human beings."

Murino's portrayal of Bond's fleeting love interest Solange in 'Casino Royale' catapulted her to fame. Since then, she has starred in numerous Italian and international films and graced the stage as the host of the 80th Venice International Film Festival in 2023.
