Garcelle Beauvais is bidding adieu to "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" with a heartfelt farewell. On Tuesday, March 25th, the 58-year-old actress made a surprising announcement via her Instagram account, revealing her decision to step away from Bravo's long-standing series, where she has shone brightly for the past five seasons.
"I have some news to share: I've decided to part ways with Beverly Hills," Beauvais disclosed in a video message. "It's been an exhilarating rollercoaster ride filled with breathtaking highs and challenging lows—a journey nonetheless."
She delved deeper into her motivations for exiting the popular reality show, attributing it to her desire to allocate more time to her sons and pursue fresh endeavors. Beauvais elaborated, "One pivotal reason for my departure is my family, my boys. They're entering their final year of high school next year, and I want to be an integral part of that milestone. Additionally, Jade is embarking on a new career path, and I yearn to support him every step of the way. Furthermore, I have an array of thrilling projects in the pipeline that I'm developing, producing, and acting in—I can't disclose much now, but you'll learn soon enough."
Before concluding her poignant speech, Beauvais extended her heartfelt gratitude to everyone associated with "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," including executive producer Andy Cohen, Bravo, NBC Universal, and the show's production houses, Evolution and 32 Flavors. She also thanked "the producers, the crew, and, of course, the ladies."
With a hint of teasing playfulness, she added, "Andy Cohen has assured me that the door will always be open, so who knows, I might just pop back in sometime."
Turning her attention to the viewers, Beauvais expressed her profound appreciation. "To the fans, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You've cheered me on, stood by my side, and even fought for me at times. It means the world to me, and I hope you'll continue to embark on this journey alongside me."
"It's not goodbye; it's see you later," she concluded warmly. "So, until we meet again."
The caption of her video read, "Cheers to the next chapter."
News of Beauvais' exit broke mere hours before the season 14 finale premiered. A three-part reunion trailer is also anticipated to follow suit.
Bravo viewers first encountered Beauvais when she joined "RHOBH" in season 10, which debuted in April 2020. She made history as the first Black woman to join the Los Angeles-based ensemble since the series premiered in October 2010.
Currently, Beauvais stars alongside fellow Housewives Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, and Bozoma Saint John. Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly also appear as Friends.
Prior to her foray into reality TV, Beauvais enjoyed a storied career as a model and actress, gracing magazine covers and strutting down runways worldwide before landing roles in sitcoms like "The Jamie Foxx Show," dramas such as "NYPD Blue," and blockbuster films including "Coming to America," "Coming 2 America," "White House Down," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," and more.
Undoubtedly, the Bravo series propelled her career to new heights. She co-hosted "The Real" for two years before the daytime talk show ceased production in 2022. That same year, she inked a first-look development deal with NBC Universal under her self-titled production company and secured a role in Netflix's "Survival of the Thickest."
Recently, Beauvais has collaborated closely with Lifetime. She starred in two films for the network—"Caught in His Web" and "Black Girl Missing"—and is executive producing three other original movies for the brand.
"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, with episodes available the next day on Peacock.
