Gayle King has finally addressed the buzz that she's saying goodbye to CBS News, putting an end to the speculations that have been swirling around like a winter breeze. The 70-year-old TV icon, who has been the host of CBS Mornings under various titles since 2012, opened up about her future at the network while gracing the red carpet at the 2025 Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday, December 3.

As the reporters eagerly awaited a glimpse into her future at the network, Gayle confidently declared, "I'm still there, and I'm planning to be there." When pressed for any details about her situation, she simply responded with a mischievous smile, "No, what do you know?"
Earlier in October, Variety had reported that Gayle was considering leaving the network's morning show next year, as her contract with CBS was set to end in May. However, CBS news had refuted the rumors, stating that "there have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026." They added, "She’s a truly valued part of CBS and we look forward to engaging with her about the future."
At the star-studded event, Gayle looked effortlessly elegant in a red blazer and matching trousers, radiating grace and poise. When asked what she had planned for this Christmas, the TV host replied with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, "Eating." It was as if she was already savoring the anticipation of a feast to come.
