Glenn Close Defends Kim Kardashian Amid All's Fair Criticism

When the Kim Kardashian-led new series "All's Fair" garnered some unfavorable reviews following its November 4 premiere, Glenn Close stepped up to her costar's defense and the legal drama's, declaring in a recent interview with The Guardian, "I swear to God, I've seen all nine episodes and it's pretty f--king good. It is what it is: juicy, outrageous at times, and touching." Despite Kim's relatively limited acting background, Glenn was unconcerned about her resume, adding, "She surrounded herself with really good people."

Working alongside the Kardashians star—who shares children North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, with ex-husband Kanye "Ye" West—on the Hulu original was particularly enjoyable for Glenn. "She's lovely," she gushed. "And very smart. Very, very conscientious with her kids. When we were filming, she was working towards her law degree, and near the end, she would have flashcards."

"She now has her law degree," Glenn continued. "And I asked her: Are you going to practice? And she said: No, I just want it in my back pocket."

The negative reviews about the Ryan Murphy-created series didn't phase Kim either. She shared her own cheeky response to the less-than-desirable reactions on Instagram November 6. "Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!? All's Fair streaming now on @hulu and @disneyplus," she teased.

Those working behind the scenes also defended the series, including director Anthony Hemingway. "You're not going to please everybody," he told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month. "You may have certain criticisms, while there are a million others who love it. I think the show holds a mirror up to each person who watches it. It's just about: Can you connect to it or relate to it, and see yourself? It may be out of your league, it may not be anything you can connect to, and I think that goes for anything that gets presented on screen."
