Jessica Capshaw, the beloved star of "Grey's Anatomy," revealed an intriguing near-miss during a heartfelt chat with her co-star Camilla Luddington on their podcast, "Call It What It Is." She shared that she almost stepped into the shoes of a character in the third season of "The White Lotus." Capshaw, who portrayed the iconic Dr. Arizona Robbins in the medical drama, disclosed that she had auditioned for a pivotal role in the vacation-themed saga but ultimately lost out to Leslie Bibb, whose performance she praised as "outstanding."
"I auditioned for the part that Leslie Bibb eventually secured, and I vividly remember walking into the audition room, completely overjoyed because I'm such a huge fan of the show," reminisced Capshaw, now 48. Despite missing out on portraying Kate in "The White Lotus," the actress remained undeterred, emphasizing her relentless pursuit of roles and her unwavering determination to secure a spot in the luxurious tropical resort's narrative.
"I'll keep auditioning, and I'll keep pushing forward. That's what I did for 'Grey's,'" she said with resolve, referring to her journey in "The Practice" spin-off. "I absolutely adored 'Grey's Anatomy,' and I was more than willing to audition as many times as it took! It took me three attempts, so I'm hopeful that it'll only take two with Mike White and 'The White Lotus.' I'll persist until I succeed."
Having added "Grey's Anatomy" to her impressive acting resume, Capshaw is now eagerly eyeing multiple auditions for "The White Lotus," ready to showcase her talents once again.
