Grimes has hit the pause button on her upcoming endeavors. The vocalist, whose given name is Claire Elise Boucher, issued an apology to her devoted followers for canceling her performance at the World Pride celebration in Washington, D.C., citing "family matters" as the reason behind her abrupt withdrawal. In a heartfelt message posted on social media on May 26th, Grimes conveyed her profound sorrow and regret, stating, "I'm deeply aware that this situation has caused considerable inconvenience to my fans for quite some time, and I am steadfastly committed to ensuring that this will not persist for much longer."

The "Genesis" crooner further expressed her faith that the June 6th and 7th festival, which boasts an impressive lineup featuring Troye Sivan, Kim Petras, Sofi Tukker, and a set by RuPaul, would still be an extraordinary event. "I hope this announcement comes early enough to allow individuals ample time to adjust their plans if needed," she added. "And I promise to make it up to you all in the near future." Grimes concluded her note with a heartwarming sign-off: "With eternal love, always."

This isn't the first instance where the 37-year-old musician, who co-parents X Æ A-Xii, 5, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2, with her ex, Elon Musk, has hinted at personal struggles, particularly in navigating their coparenting dynamic. Earlier in February, Grimes took to social media to publicly urge Elon—who shares a total of 14 children with four different women, including Grimes—to address a medical emergency involving one of their shared offspring.

"Please respond regarding our child's medical crisis," the artist, who kept the affected child's identity confidential, penned on February 20th, as reported by screenshots shared by TMZ at that time. "I apologize for resorting to this public plea, but ignoring this situation is no longer acceptable. Immediate attention is required."

She continued, "If you prefer not to communicate with me, could you please appoint or hire someone who can, so we can progress in resolving this issue? This is urgent, Elon." Responding to a user who questioned her decision to air her personal matters on a public platform, Grimes clarified, "I'm not disclosing specifics, but he doesn't respond to texts, calls, or emails, and has skipped every meeting. Our child will face lifelong impairment if he doesn't respond promptly. So, I need him to respond, and if applying public pressure is what it takes, then so be it."
