This week, Lili Reinhart sent her fans into a frenzy with a cryptic plea for help seemingly emanating from the confines of her rideshare vehicle. On Monday, May 26th, the actress took to TikTok while inside an Uber, which bore some unsettling characteristics, as evidenced in a new video captioned, "If you never see me again, show this to the police."
Visible in the back of what appeared to be a minivan, the inner door handles were covered in duct tape. Just before the video ended abruptly, she switched the camera to capture her own anxious glances around the vehicle.
"Is this going to be an Uber horror story?" she wondered in the caption. As hours passed without any further update, fans grew increasingly worried, fearing that their worst suspicions might be true.
"Please keep us updated when you're safe, because this is really scary," one fan begged, while another inquired, "Queen, are you still with us?" Another expressed concern, "Girl, are you safe? How long is this ride?" Prompting fans to initiate a countdown.
"It's been the longest HOUR ever, let us know something!" one commented shortly afterward. "Girl, it's been 5 hours, are you okay?" another asked later, with consecutive comments pouring in: "Queen, it's been 7 hours, are you alright?" "Girl, it's been 10 hours, where are you?" "It's been 12 hours! Are you ok???? Hello??? Lili???" and, "This was posted 13 hours ago, are you okay?"
Thankfully, the former Riverdale star provided an update the following day, reassuring everyone in the comments, "I'M ALIVE." She added, "I was never actually fearing for my life… it was funny."
Even so, a creeping sense of apprehension cast a dark cloud over the fans' minds. One fan, brimming with doubts, posed a questioning remark, "Could this possibly adhere to the law?" Another, his voice tinged with urgency, exhorted, "You absolutely must report that vehicle without delay!" Others chimed in, resonating with these sentiments, asserting that had they found themselves in her shoes, they would undoubtedly "be engulfed in an instant of terror."
