Paramount+ has commissioned a thrilling new chapter in the world of crime dramas, titled "The Donovans," helmed by the renowned director and executive producer Guy Ritchie.

Drawing inspiration from the highly successful original series that graced Showtime's screens for seven remarkable seasons, "The Donovans" promises to be a pulse-pounding thriller starring Liev Schreiber's iconic character as a professional "fixer" in Los Angeles. The official synopsis teases: "With the most powerful clients in Europe, the Donovan family faces the risk of their fortunes and reputations, unexpected alliances, and betrayal lurking in every corner. Despite their status as London's elite fixers today, the volatile nature of their business guarantees an uncertain future."

Award-winning Irish screenwriter Ronan Bennett (Top Boy) pens all ten episodes, promising a blend of thrilling action, entertainment, and an adrenaline rush for global audiences. Bennett states, "We aim to deliver a show that offers a thrill ride, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. At the same time, I'm deeply committed to exploring realistic characters, both physically and emotionally, and crafting narratives with profound dramatic impact. We will delve deep into the criminal underworld, revealing the unvarnished truths of their lives and how they inevitably intersect with our own."

Chris McCarthy, president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, adds, "Guy Ritchie and Ronan Bennett form the perfect dream team to create a new global hit franchise with 'The Donovans.' Guy's intense and stylish directorial approach, coupled with Ronan's captivating and brutally authentic writing, will transport audiences into a wild and twisted world filled with new adventures."

For Ritchie (The Covenant), this marks another exciting foray into the television landscape, following his recent Netflix series "The Gentlemen." Both "The Gentlemen" and "The Donovans" showcase Ritchie's signature storytelling prowess, centering on London-based crime dramas reminiscent of his films like "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."

"The Donovans" is set to premiere on Paramount+ later this year, promising a thrilling ride that will keep viewers hooked. The series is executive produced by Ritchie, Bennett, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, and Ivan Atkinson, ensuring a top-notch production that lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor.
