In a recent heart-to-heart with The Hollywood Reporter, Gwyneth Paltrow, the 53-year-old actress, revealed a candid glimpse into her privileged upbringing with her famous parents, Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner. When asked about director Josh Safdie's explanation to Vogue about his desire for a "landed gentry quality" in his new movie Marty Supreme, Gwyneth couldn't help but laugh.

"It must be a quality that I give off. I come from a very WASPy mother with Mayflower-ish roots, daughter of the American Revolution, all that kind of stuff," she said with a hint of pride. "So I think maybe epigenetically, there is some of that there. And I was a very privileged kid," she continued, her voice softening as she reflected on her childhood on the Upper East Side, attending a prestigious school and all the things that came with it.
"So some of the stuff that he sees, which is also the stuff I've been criticized for my whole life, is real," Gwyneth added with a sense of resignation.
Gwyneth's father, Bruce, was a director and producer who passed away in 2002 due to cancer, while her mother, Danner, is an Emmy Award and Tony Award-winning actress. She kicked off her acting career at the age of 17 with a 1989 television movie written and directed by her father titled High. She also won an Academy Award for her performance in Shakespeare in Love.
Gwyneth first tied the knot with Chris Martin and welcomed two children, daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19. The pair was married from 2003 to 2014 before she found love again with TV writer and producer Brad Falchuk.
