Halsey Stops Concert to Save Videographer From Getting Burned by Pyrotechnics

Halsey commanded the spotlight during her recent Pittsburgh concert with utmost prowess. The vocalist behind the hit "Bad at Love" sprang into action on June 14th, heroically shielding a videographer from the perils of stage pyrotechnics during her performance. As she and her bandmates belted out "Without Me," they noticed the cameraman inching perilously close to the spot where the fiery effects were set to ignite. With urgent gestures and silent lipsyncing of "Get out of the way," they signaled to the videographer to retreat to the side of the stage, aware of the impending blaze.

However, the videographer seemed oblivious to their warnings. Without missing a single note, Halsey leaped into action, excitedly exclaiming, "There's pyro coming! Move!" while swiftly pushing the videographer to safety just as the flames erupted skyward.

After this heart-stopping incident, the 30-year-old, who co-parents her 3-year-old son Ember with her ex Alev Aydin, dashed back to the center of the stage with a nervous chuckle, seamlessly resuming her rendition of the chart-topping lyrics, "Tell me how it feels, sitting right there..."

This brave rescue wasn't the first time Halsey, now engaged to "Victorious" star Avan Jogia, faced a significant stage mishap. In 2021, she encountered another harrowing moment during a concert at Madison Square Garden.

"I was onstage, and everything stopped working," Halsey recounted on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" in January 2021. "Sound, lights, video, music, the whole shebang, even my brain felt like it shut down." She elaborated, "Everything malfunctioned, forcing me to stand there, addressing the audience for what felt like an eternity—two minutes on stage can seem like a century."

While she adeptly handled the recent stage issue with swift resolve, her response during the 2021 incident was quite different. "When that happened to me, I restarted my entire show from scratch," Halsey continued, "ensuring I could perform flawlessly without any hitches."
