Heart's Royal Flush Tour has been indefinitely suspended, as the band's beloved frontwoman, Ann Wilson, bravely disclosed on Instagram that she underwent a surgical procedure to eradicate a malignant growth from her body. The 74-year-old rocker confessed that "a procedure was performed to extract an unwelcome guest, which was later confirmed to be cancerous." Post-operation, her doctors recommended precautionary chemotherapy, and Wilson has been instructed to take a yearlong hiatus from the stage to ensure a full recovery.
In a heartfelt message to her loyal fans, she expressed, "To all those who have secured tickets, my heart truly wishes we could continue these performances. Please know that I am determined to return to the stage in 2025. My team is diligently working out the details, and we will communicate the plan as soon as possible."
The Royal Flush Tour, which boasted an impressive lineup including Cheap Trick, Bachman-Turner Overdrive with Randy Bachman, and Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening, marked Heart's triumphant return after a five-year hiatus. It kicked off in April and May across the United States, but in late May, the band reluctantly canceled their European performances scheduled for June and July, so that Wilson could undergo a "necessary medical intervention."
The anticipated leg of the tour, set to resume in San Francisco on September 26, with concerts spanning the rest of the year and culminating in Las Vegas on December 15, has now been postponed. Additionally, Heart will no longer be opening for Def Leppard and Journey this summer.
Since their split in 2016 due to an unfortunate incident involving Ann's husband and Nancy's twin sons, the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees performed separately for several years. However, in 2019, they reunited for the Love Alive tour, and four years later, they announced the epic Royal Flush World tour, leaving fans eagerly anticipating their return to the stage.
