The Pollstar report, which offers a comprehensive overview of the music industry, reveals that while the post-pandemic touring boom saw record-breaking ticket sales in recent years, the growth of live music has stabilized in the first half of 2024. There were no significant spikes or dips in percentage differences compared to previous years. In 2023, the overall gross was 51.1 percent higher than 2022, and average gross per show increased by 64.7 percent. However, in 2024, there have been no jumps exceeding 17 percent or declines surpassing 15 percent.

It's worth noting that Taylor Swift's blockbuster "Eras" tour, which shattered records and became the first to cross the $1 billion threshold, is conspicuously absent from Pollstar's figures. Nevertheless, with her European leg of the "Eras" tour kicking off on May 9, Swift is likely to emerge as the leader of 2024 as well.

Not all promoters or tours disclose their full numbers to Pollstar, which was acquired by Irving Azoff and Tim Lieweke's Oak View Group in 2017.尽管如此, 这些统计数据确实揭示了一系列重要趋势。

Trailing closely behind Madonna is Bad Bunny, whose "Most Wanted Tour" raked in $174.6 million, while Luis Miguel follows suit with $169.4 million. U2 secures the fourth spot with $135 million from their Sphere residency, and Karol G rounds out the top five with $111 million. The top 10 continues with Bruno Mars ($102 million), Coldplay ($100 million), Seventeen ($74 million), Eagles ($69 million), and Nicki Minaj ($66 million).

On a broader scale, the overall global gross surpassed $3 billion for the first time in 2024, surpassing the $2.83 billion of 2023. Last year marked exponential growth over 2022's $1.87 billion. While the average gross dipped slightly from $1.47 million in 2023 to $1.37 million in 2024, ticket sales remained almost unchanged, with 24.1 million tickets sold in 2024 versus 24.3 million in 2023. Average ticket prices increased from $116 to $127 year over year, even as the average number of tickets sold per show declined from 12,655 to 10,767.

In North America, Bad Bunny reigned supreme in total gross earnings, amassing $174.6 million. Madonna follows close behind with $148 million, trailed by U2 ($135 million), Luis Miguel ($100 million), and Eagles ($69 million). The overall gross in the region totaled $2.33 billion, a robust 18.7 percent increase from last year's $1.96 billion. Total tickets sold jumped to 17.6 million, compared to 16.32 million in 2023, while the average number of tickets sold per show dipped from 9,071 in 2023 to 8,252.

This report arrives amidst a year of robust ticket sales, juxtaposed against reports of major artists canceling their tours. In recent months, the Black Keys axed their international arena tour, and Jennifer Lopez followed suit, rebranding her tour from a focus on her new album to a greatest hits showcase.
