As Season 1 continues to captivate the world, Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie is eagerly anticipating a summer spent on ice. The actor, who brings Ilya Rozanov to life in the LGBTQ hockey romance series, shared an update on the production timeline for Season 2, predicting that filming for the Jacob Tierney-adapted Crave/HBO Max series could resume in the near future.

"I believe Jacob is still in the writing process. I think we'll be filming soon, but I'm not entirely sure when," Storrie said during an interview with Today's co-host Craig Melvin, who inquired if production could begin by summer. "Yes, I think it's around then."

After the series, based on Rachel Reid's Game Changer novels, was renewed for Season 2, Tierney revealed to Deadline that it will be based on The Long Game, the only other current book in the series that focuses on Ilya and Shane (Reid's Unrivaled resumes the story on Sept. 29).

"I don't have any details. I haven't started writing yet, so I'm not trying to be evasive. I genuinely don't know yet," he said last month. "I'm so fortunate to have a whole world of books to draw inspiration from, to add color, context, and story. I can tell you that I'm really excited to get back to writing. I'm thrilled to dive back into this world with them, and I'm looking forward to it."

Tierney added, "I guess what I can say is that Heated Rivalry will always be centered around Shane and Ilya. But we have a whole universe here, and there are loads of other things we're thinking about and exploring. We're going to start taking them more seriously now that we know there's an audience for it. That's pretty exciting, so I'm looking forward to really diving into this world."
