Fandy stepped away from her computer during her most recent Twitch stream, but this hiatus was far from ordinary. While the seasoned gamer typically delights her fans with riveting sessions of *World of Warcraft* and *League of Legends*, on October 7th, she chose to broadcast a far more extraordinary event: the live birth of her baby girl, Luna, right from the comfort of her living room.
"Hi Twitter, my water just broke, so I think I'm going live," Fandy (real name Cady) declared on her X account in a thrilling prelude to the stream. "Baby time :)"
The streamer meticulously documented the grueling eight-and-a-half-hour labor process on her Twitch channel, surrounded by a supportive entourage that included several close friends, her devoted husband Adam, and a skilled midwife. Fandy spent the initial nearly seven hours experimenting with various positions, her contractions growing increasingly intense and frequent.
After eight arduous hours, the 32-year-old mother-to-be, who had opted for a home birth with a cozy inflatable pool, joyfully welcomed her and Adam's first child into the world. Among the 50,000 viewers tuned in to witness this historic moment was Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, who took to the live chat to extend his heartfelt congratulations. "Fandy, best of luck and congratulations," he penned, as reported by The Verge. "Wishing you the best in this incredible journey."
Following the arrival of their precious baby girl, the couple expressed their profound gratitude to their supportive community. "Thanks for watching, guys," Adam remarked, as Fandy cradled baby Luna close. "This has been an absolutely insane experience. I just want to thank all the girls for showing up, too. This was truly a team effort. They all played a part. Cady did the heavy lifting, but everyone stepped in to help."
In addition to chronicling her labor and delivery, Fandy had kept her fans abreast of her pregnancy journey ever since announcing the news during a stream in April. In fact, she recently opened up about the physical toll her third trimester had taken on her ability to stream regularly. "I'm sorry I haven't been streaming as much lately; my third trimester is ROUGH," she confessed on X in August. "I'm dealing with a lot of back and pelvic pain, Braxton Hicks contractions, and just sheer exhaustion. It feels like I'm playing life with a res sickness debuff. But I'm doing my best."
Despite the challenges, she assured her followers that she was "healthy, just incredibly uncomfortable." Nevertheless, Fandy couldn't contain her excitement about the arrival of their little bundle of joy. As she expressed in an additional X post, "I'm so thrilled to spawn in another mini-me."
