On Sunday night, at the glittering 2025 Golden Globes, Timothée Chalamet undeniably stole the spotlight. As he graced the red carpet, adorned in a Haider Ackermann creation for Tom Ford, complemented by Cartier jewels, he garnered instant attention. Yet, his charm didn't fade within the opulent ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Even though Chalamet walked solo on the red carpet, his rumored girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, was later seen sitting closely by his side.
Prior to settling into his seat, Chalamet engaged in animated conversation with James Mangold, the director of his film "A Complete Unknown," while other guests gathered around, eager to share in the moment. As the show began, host Nikki Glaser circulated through the room, weaving humor into her opening monologue as she poked fun at various celebrities. Her gaze eventually fell upon Chalamet.
After cracking a joke about Tilda Swinton being nominated for portraying Chalamet, Glaser exclaimed that the actor himself was "the greatest Timothée Chalamet this year too," playfully referencing last year's New York City look-alike contest where Chalamet made a surprise appearance. Directing her gaze at the "Dune" star, the comedian continued her playful banter, "May I just mention, you have the most exquisite eyelashes on your upper lip? It's such a striking look."
As Chalamet chuckled, Glaser praised him for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in "A Complete Unknown," jesting, "I heard your singing voice was so spot-on that even Bob Dylan himself admitted it was absolutely dreadful." She further highlighted Chalamet's prowess in portraying beloved eccentric characters, including Dylan and Willy Wonka.
Glaser pondered aloud who Chalamet might portray next, already having a whimsical idea: Adam Sandler. "Actually, your name sounds like something Adam Sandler would say," she added, mimicking Sandler's voice as she said "Timothée Chalamet." The camera then shifted to the "Happy Gilmore 2" actor, who playfully pronounced Chalamet's name in return.
Chalamet was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at Sunday's ceremony for his role in "A Complete Unknown." However, the accolade ultimately went to Adrien Brody for "The Brutalist." In Mangold's biopic, Chalamet transformed into the legendary musician Bob Dylan, portraying the 19-year-old unknown musician's arrival in New York City in 1961, his meteoric rise, and his groundbreaking performance that echoed worldwide.
Other nominees in the category who missed out were Daniel Craig ("Queer"), Colman Domingo ("Sing Sing"), Ralph Fiennes ("Conclave"), and Sebastian Stan ("The Apprentice"). The 82nd annual Golden Globes, hosted by the comedienne Nikki Glaser, took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday evening.
