Don't swallow whole the gossip mill's chatter about Cher and her rumored impending nuptials with her 39-year-old boyfriend, Alexander "AE" Edwards. The 79-year-old music icon's rep has officially put a stop to the speculations, telling The Gossip List, "There are absolutely no wedding plans in her future."
While Cher is currently busy with other projects, including her December 20th appearance on SNL alongside Ariana Grande, that doesn't mean she lacks any affection for her lover, whom she met at Paris Fashion Week 2022. As she put it, "He's fabulous."
Cher elaborated on The Kelly Clarkson Show in December 2022, saying, "On paper, it's kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great." She added of the music executive, who has worked with Universal Music Group and Sony Music Publishing, "He's very kind, very smart, he's very talented, and he's really funny. And I think he's quite handsome."
Despite AE's past three-year relationship with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, which ended poorly due to his alleged infidelity with 12 women (which he later admitted), Cher is focused on their future rather than the past. "I just love him. I think he's beautiful," Cher told Gayle King on CBS Mornings in November. "Nobody knows what goes on between us; we just have a blast."
And for the "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer, his child is just a bonus. She added, "I used to say, God, give me a toddler and a man." Furthermore, Cher emphasized that their age gap has never been an issue. "He says, 'You know, you get older but your spirit is younger.'"
