Jack Osbourne brooks no hateful remarks directed at his late father, Ozzy Osbourne. On Tuesday, the 39-year-old took to social media to reprimand Roger Waters, the founder of Pink Floyd, who appeared to dishonor his father during an interview on "The Independent Ink" last month. Waters, 81, stated, "Ozzy Osbourne, who has recently passed away, rest his soul, whatever state he was in throughout his life. We'll never truly know, you see? Despite being all over TV for ages with his silliness and nonsense." He further added, "I don't care about Black Sabbath, never did. I have zero interest in biting chicken heads or whatever antics they pull. I simply couldn't be bothered."
In response, Jack wrote, "Hey [Roger Waters], fuck you. How pathetic and detached you've grown. It seems your only means of garnering attention these days is by spilling bullshit in the press. My father always thought you were a jerk – thanks for validating his belief."
Last week, Jack's sister, Kelly Osbourne, lambasted WWE star Becky Lynch after the athlete disparaged Ozzy's hometown of Birmingham. Lynch remarked during "Monday Night Raw," which aired from England, "I won't be wrestling in Birmingham. Yeah, the sole positive thing to emanate from there died a month ago. But credit where credit's due, Ozzy Osbourne had the wisdom to relocate to L.A., a real city. Because if I resided in Birmingham, I'd be dead too."
Kelly deemed the comments "disrespectful" and called out the WWE for permitting the wrestler to speak so negatively about her father. She posted on her Instagram Stories, "(Becky Lynch), you're a disrespectful scoundrel! Birmingham wouldn't piss on you if you were aflame. #birminghamforever" She continued, "Shame on the WWE for allowing such remarks about my father and his hometown."
The lead singer of Black Sabbath passed away on July 22 at the age of 76. According to the death certificate obtained by Fox News Digital, the singer succumbed to cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease. The family issued a statement, "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ozzy Osbourne this morning. He was accompanied by his family and bathed in love. We kindly request everyone to respect our family's privacy during this time."
Osbourne recently performed his farewell concert in Birmingham, England. The marathon 10-hour show, hosted by Jason Momoa, featured acts like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Jack Black, Steven Tyler, and more. Osbourne is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters Kelly and Aimee, son Jack, along with daughter Jessica and sons Elliot and Louis from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.
According to The Daily Mail, the Black Sabbath frontman wished to be buried near a lake on his 250-acre estate. Following his demise, thousands marched through the streets of Birmingham to honor the legendary rock star as the hearse and accompanying vehicles made their way to the Black Sabbath bridge and bench. The hearse carrying Osbourne traversed Broad Street to the Black Sabbath bench, unveiled on the Broad Street canal bridge in 2019.
In a "Dear Ozzy" column for The Times in 2011, Osbourne shared his vision for his funeral after a fan inquired about the morbidity of pre-planning one's funeral or if it was a considerate gesture for surviving relatives. Osbourne wrote, "I honestly couldn't care less about the playlist at my funeral; they can play a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle, and We Are the Diddymen if it brings them joy. But I do want it to be a celebration, not a somber affair." He continued, "I'd also appreciate some pranks: perhaps the sound of knocking inside the coffin or a video of me seeking a second opinion from my doctor about his 'death' diagnosis. There'll be no dwelling on the bad times."
