Jeannie Mai Shares Dating Life Update After Jeezy Divorce

Jeannie Mai is unapologetically diving into the realm of her romantic life. The former host of "The Real," who concluded her two-year union with rapper Jeezy in 2023 and finalized their divorce the year after, has declared that she's now prioritizing herself in the realm of "dating at 47." In a March 5 YouTube video, she stated, "I'm not seeking to be chosen. I'm the one making the decisions." She posed a series of questions to herself: "When I'm with you, do I like myself? Am I fully myself when I'm with you?"

Jeannie reflected, "It's been a while since I've allowed someone to see the whole of me." She further observed, "Dating in LA already feels like a full-blown sport. Everyone is emotionally unavailable. This time, I have standards." The Daytime Emmy winner underscored her new mindset, adding, "Being in my presence is a privilege."

Hence, Jeannie recently embarked on a solo date, documenting it in her vlog. She said, "I'm not dimming my light to make someone else comfortable. The most crucial takeaway is that I will never abandon myself again." Especially since she likened her divorce from Jeezy, with whom she shares a 4-year-old daughter named Monaco, to "experiencing death while still alive."

On a January episode of iHeartRadio's "Question Everything" podcast, Jeannie shared, "Divorce is heartbreaking, no matter what. It's one of the greatest pains that any human has to endure, honestly." She continued, "Divorce does this inhumane thing that forces you to then protect yourself to get what you need from the divorce. It's the worst."

So, will she ever consider walking down the aisle again? "I actually would," said Jeannie, who was also married to Freddy Harteis from 2007 to 2018. "Because I really don't want to ever put a block on myself." She added, "You can never cage love. You can never say, 'Oh, I'm only going to find love' if I'm saying I'm never going to get married again."
