Jack Osbourne is reminiscing about the final days of his father, Ozzy Osbourne. Just seven months after the Black Sabbath frontman passed away from a heart attack amidst his struggle with Parkinson's disease, his son candidly shared why the musician's demise was "a surprise."
"Obviously, everyone knew he was ill," Jack said in an episode of the Hate to Break it to Ya podcast on March 4th. "But we weren't anticipating it to be as swift as it was."
Indeed, the 40-year-old explained that Ozzy seemed to be in good health in the days following his final concert, Back to the Beginning.

"Even on the morning of his passing, there was nothing dramatic at all," he continued. "He was up, doing his routine, had some breakfast, and that was it."
Despite this, Jack and his family, including his mother, Sharon Osbourne, and sister, Kelly Osbourne, were not expecting Ozzy's death. However, his son could sense that the rocker was preparing for the end of his life.
"I think he was done," Jack recalled a moment they shared after Ozzy's final show on July 5th. "I was putting him to bed, and he was brushing his teeth or whatever. He was looking at himself in the mirror and said, 'I think I'm gonna cut my hair off.' I said, 'Why?' And he replied, 'I've retired. I'm not a rock star anymore.'"
He added, "When I think about that, I realize that he was done. He was comfortable with his journey."
Meanwhile, Sharon has also shared her memories of her final day with Ozzy.
"He was up and down to the bathroom all night. It was 4:30 a.m., and he said, 'Wake up,'" she recalled through tears on a December episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. "I said, 'I'm already awake, you've woken me up.'"
"He said, 'Kiss me,' and then he said, 'Hug me tight,'" she continued. Reflecting on the exchange that happened hours before Ozzy suffered a heart attack following a brief workout, Sharon added, "If only I had told him I loved him more. If only I had held him tighter."
