Jenna Bush Hager made a stylish entrance fit for a guest at the prestigious White Lotus hotel as she unveiled her chic, collarbone-grazing bob on Tuesday's episode of the Today Show. Just prior to her television debut, the Jenna & Friends star still sported her trademark chest-length, balayage waves, having just undergone a transformation with the celebrated hairstylist to the stars, Chris McMillan, alongside Leslie Bibb. Together, they aimed to replicate the viral earlobe-length bob seen on a character in the latest season of The White Lotus.
Ahead of the bob's grand unveiling on live TV, Bush Hager shared an anecdote about introducing her new 'do to her kids the day before. The television personality, who is mother to daughters Mila, 12, Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5, with her husband Henry Hager, revealed that their initial reaction to her haircut was a mix of confusion followed by a minor meltdown. "I walked in to show my children, and I videoed their reaction," Bush Hager confessed to Bibb during their June 17 appearance. As she played the video, she let it speak volumes, saying, "I think they thought they were getting a puppy."
In the footage, Bush Hager's children could be heard eagerly inquiring, "What is it?" as they entered the room. Upon beholding their mom with her bold new chop, they froze in their tracks and burst into unison screams. "What are you doing?" Poppy screamed in disbelief. "Why would you do that?" Looking horrified, she dashed away and leapt into a chair. Mila added her voice to the chorus, informing Bush Hager, "I don't like it." Hal echoed his sister's sentiment, agreeing, "I don't like it either." The trio then trudged away, simulating crying sounds.
"Are those real tears?" a stunned Bibb asked Bush Hager when the clip concluded. "Your children are monsters! They started crying!" Chuckling, the seasoned TV host replied, "I know. It was more like fake crying; that's just our love language."
While Bush Hager's children may not be the biggest admirers of her new hairstyle, she revealed on Monday that she had long been yearning to recreate Bibb's "cute little bob" with the help of the hairstylist behind the viral look. McMillan, who is also credited with creating Jennifer Aniston's iconic "The Rachel" cut, gave Bush Hager a White Lotus-inspired twist during their live television hair-cutting session.
