Justin Bieber Addresses His Trauma: “My Anger Is a Response to Pain”

Published: Jun 19 2025

Justin Bieber, affectionately known as "The Biebs," is firmly establishing his personal boundaries. Recently, he took to Instagram to share a heartfelt text conversation with an unnamed individual whom he has decided to sever ties with, revealing that his former friend fails to comprehend the roots of his "anger."

"I will never silence my emotions for anyone's sake," he penned. "Conflict is an integral part of any relationship. If you can't embrace my anger, then you don't embrace me." He continued, "My anger is a natural reaction to the pain I've endured. Asking a trauma-scarred soul to suppress their trauma is cruel and insensitive."

The recipient responded, acknowledging their unfamiliarity with such outbursts, stating, "I don't overlook or disregard your anger." Bieber, however, retaliated with, "Ouch. This friendship has officially reached its expiration date. I refuse to accept anyone labeling my anger as mere outbursts. Our fleeting bond was enjoyable, but I was sincere when I said I didn't need you as a friend. I'm surrounded by genuine friends who respect my boundaries." He then instructed the individual to leave him be and promptly blocked them.

The next day, Bieber posted a poignant message on Instagram, sharing, "People constantly urge me to heal. Don't you realize if I had the power to mend myself, I would have done so long ago? I'm acutely aware of my flaws and my anger issues. I've spent my entire life striving to conform to others' expectations of perfection, only to find it exhausting and infuriating. The more I strive for growth, the more inward-focused I become. Jesus is the sole beacon that inspires me to live selflessly for others."

These revelations follow a series of unusual social media antics, such as his gaunt-eyed rap performance on Instagram Live months ago, which left fans worried.

Just three days shy of Father's Day, the Grammy-awarded artist faced yet another paparazzi harassment. In a now-viral video, photographers swarmed his vehicle. Bieber repeatedly demanded they "back off" and "stop probing into my well-being." Despite their "Happy Father's Day" wishes and persistent photography within his personal space, he firmly stated, "I'm a real father with a real family, and you're intrusively close."

"I'm merely demanding the respect I deserve," he emphasized. "You mistake my anger for disrespect. It stems from your disrespectful behavior towards me, which I won't tolerate. You can't force questions upon people, capture videos out of context, and use them against them. That's malicious."
