Jenna Ortega has recently recounted a harrowing encounter with a fan in the aftermath of her skyrocketing fame from the hit series "Wednesday." During her visit to "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," the actress, who portrays the iconic Wednesday Addams in the beloved Netflix show, vividly described her unsettling experience, exclaiming, "It was terrifying."
"I've been acting since I was nine, so I've been in this industry for quite some time, experiencing glimpses of public attention before," continued the 22-year-old talent. However, she divulged, "I distinctly remember when the show premiered during Thanksgiving. I was at home with my family, sans makeup, clad in sweatpants, feeling simultaneously gross and elated."
"While I was taking my nephew for a walk in my parents' neighborhood, accompanied by my dog, a woman and her daughter recognized me. They abruptly screeched to a halt, performed a U-turn, and frantically tried to catch my attention," Jenna recounted. The actress confessed that "I was frightened because I was with my nephew. She was shouting at him to 'come over here,' which was making him quite uneasy, and I was at a loss for what to do."
Jenna emphasized, "It was the first time I had ventured out since the show's debut, and that's when it dawned on me, 'Oh, it's like I have something outrageous written all over me, and perhaps things will never be the same again.'"
When Stephen inquired about her enjoyment of fame and the spotlight, Jenna pondered, "I believe I've only just begun to grasp the balance." She added thoughtfully, "I understand that it's part of the package. I've been witnessing this level of fame for quite some time, and I've realized that you just have to stop caring; it simply doesn't matter."
