"Despite the constant comparisons and rivalry we faced, it never captured the essence of our bond, a union grounded in profound respect and admiration," Garth pens on Instagram, reflecting on her collaboration with her co-star from 'Beverly Hills, 90210'. Upon learning of Shannen Doherty's passing, Jennie Garth was among the many former colleagues who honored the actress's memory on Sunday. Garth shared a picture of them together, captured in a bygone era, likely during their heyday on the hit '90s show or around that time.

Accompanying the image, Garth's words carry profound sentiment: "I'm still grappling with the profound sorrow of losing my lifelong friend, Shannen. She's always been someone I've described as one of the strongest individuals I've encountered. Our bond was authentic and sincere." Garth acknowledges the rumors of on-set tensions between her and Doherty, a topic she's openly discussed in the past. She once revealed on 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen' that they had a heated argument, once taking it outside over something trivial. But their disagreement never escalated to physical violence, and the two eventually reconciled, maintaining their friendship.

"We were often pitted against each other, but that never defined our genuine relationship, which was forged through mutual respect and admiration," Garth writes. "She was a woman of courage, passion, determination, and immense love and generosity. I will cherish her memory in my heart and reminisce about her fondly. My heart aches for her family, Bowie, and all who loved her." Her last words are a tribute to Doherty's beloved dog, Bowie, who was by her side during her final moments.

Doherty passed away on Saturday, aged 53, after a prolonged battle with cancer. Among the other stars mourning her loss are Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, Carol Potter, Brian Austin Green (all from 'Beverly Hills, 90210'), and Alyssa Milano ('Charmed').
