Jennifer Aniston Recalls Feeling "Vulnerable" During Split From Brad Pitt

Jennifer Aniston has traveled a remarkable journey from her early days as a burgeoning Hollywood actress, once tied in matrimony to Brad Pitt. However, that relationship—and its sensational conclusion—will eternally remain etched in the annals of pop culture. Thus, in her latest cover interview for Vanity Fair, Aniston has once more delved into this pivotal chapter of her life.

Jennifer Aniston Recalls Feeling

The Morning Show star's new interview with the magazine marks almost two decades since her September 2005 Vanity Fair cover story—her first in-depth interview following her separation from Pitt. "I haven't glimpsed that article in ages," Aniston reflected in her recent sit-down. "I only recall the experience of doing it—which was somewhat unsettling. It was an exceptionally fragile period in my life. But, indeed, it's a tale worthy of memoirs."

Aniston and Pitt tied the knot in July 2000 but parted ways in January 2005, with Pitt publicly acknowledging his relationship with Angelina Jolie just three months later. Their divorce was finalized in October 2005, shortly after her Vanity Fair interview hit the stands. Months after, in May 2006, Pitt and Jolie welcomed their first biological child, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.

Elsewhere in the interview, Aniston recounted her involvement in the 2006 romantic comedy The Break-Up, alongside Vince Vaughn, amidst her real-life separation from Pitt. "I might have just navigated through a separation—that little separation, I'm sure has slipped many minds," Aniston quipped, referring to her highly scrutinized first marriage. "It served as a therapeutic outlet to dive straight into another project. When they approached me... they were somewhat apprehensive about making the offer, pondering, 'Oh, is this insensitive? Is it inappropriate?' But I saw it as a golden opportunity."
