Jennifer Lawrence is poised to take the lead in the highly anticipated adaptation of Paul B. Rainey's graphic novel, titled "Why Don’t You Love Me?" A24 has secured the rights to this sci-fi comedy, which delves into the tumultuous lives of an unhappy married couple, as they navigate their personal and professional struggles, only to realize that their reality might not be as it seems and that there are other alternatives out there. Rainey released this intriguing novel in 2023 through Drawn & Quarterly.

Robert Funke, the mastermind behind the acclaimed series "On Becoming a God in Central Florida," will pen the script for this captivating project. Lawrence will not only star, but she will also produce alongside Justine Ciarrocchi for Excellent Cadaver, the production company behind the hit Sony comedy "No Hard Feelings." Lawrence and A24 have a robust collaboration, recently announcing a murder mystery based on the popular "Real Housewives" franchise for Apple, and working together on the Oscar-nominated drama "Causeway," where she portrayed a military veteran's journey home. With four acting Oscar nominations and a win for "Silver Linings Playbook" in 2013, Lawrence's talent is undeniable.

Furthermore, the esteemed filmmaker Ari Aster of "Midsommar," Lars Knudsen, and Emily Hildner of Square Peg will also lend their producing prowess to "Why Don’t You Love Me?" Rainey will serve as an executive producer, overseeing this exciting adaptation.
