Jesse Metcalfe has unveiled that he was once in contention for the starring role in HBO's hit series "Entourage," albeit he now harbors regrets about skipping the audition due to his lack of enthusiasm for the script. In a recent interview with People, Metcalfe confessed, "I auditioned for 'Entourage,' read the pilot episode, and thought, 'This is just silly,' so I didn't bother showing up for the audition. Clearly, I had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. That show went on to become an iconic gem that I adore and deeply wish I had been a part of."

He further elaborated, "I messed that one up big time. Sure, sometimes you have to decline opportunities, but this was a colossal misjudgment on my part." Metcalfe added that this experience served as a stark reminder that "I don't have all the answers."

Reflecting further, he noted that this encounter made him far more inclined to audition for roles, regardless of whether the script left him unimpressed or he doubted his suitability for the part. "Lately, it feels like I've been auditioning for just about everything under the sun," Metcalfe remarked.

Regarding "Entourage," the actor who rose to fame in "John Tucker Must Die" revealed that he would have auditioned for Adrian Grenier's role as Vincent Chase in the eight-season-long HBO series, which aired from 2004 to 2011. Numerous cast members reprised their roles in the 2015 film adaptation.

Created by Doug Ellin and loosely inspired by producer Mark Wahlberg's early days in the entertainment industry, "Entourage" garnered critical acclaim and multiple awards, including six Emmys. Alongside Grenier, the show featured Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven as Vince's management team and tight-knit friends.

Despite his audition regret, Metcalfe found his own slice of success when he landed the role of John Rowland in the 2004 pilot episode of "Desperate Housewives." Metcalfe's character was hired by Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) and Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) to maintain their lawn and garden, but soon found himself entangled in an affair with Gabrielle.
