Wherever Jodie Sweetin goes, she brings a unique perspective that often diverges from that of Candace Cameron Bure. Indeed, the Full House alum recently reflected on how her on-screen sister approaches certain stances. "We sit on very opposite sides of things," Jodie said in the Feb. 12 episode of Only Child with Bob the Drag Queen. "I'm a loud, outspoken individual on many topics, and that's not going to change."

Alluding to Candace's differing viewpoints, the 44-year-old added, "If that's not you, that's not you." Jodie previously addressed her Fuller House costar's stance on the LGBTQ+ community after Candace launched her Great American Family network in 2022, which she said aimed to uphold "traditional marriage" as its core.

"We've lived very different lifestyles," Jodie shared on The Vault with Monica & Amir podcast in April 2025. "We exist in entirely different worlds." Despite their opposing perspectives, though, the pair share a lifetime of history.

"She is still someone I've known since I was 5 years old," Jodie continued. "It's like family members where we don't talk all the time, and I know if politics come up it's not going to go well, but I don't hate you. I'm not going to not hug you."

Beyond her complex relationship with Candace, Jodie said her friendship with Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen used to be very strong when they were younger. "They would come to my house for the weekends," Jodie said on the Only Child podcast. "I took Mary-Kate and Ashley horseback riding for the first time, and now Mary-Kate owns horses and stuff. We would go to Disneyland together. They would spend weekends with my parents at the house."

Nowadays, the twins keep out of the spotlight. But noting they all used to be "really, really close," Jodie added, "I wish nothing but the best for them."
