Kaley Cuoco is reminiscing about her somewhat underwhelming experience on "Charmed." The "8 Simple Rules" alum recalled joining the cast of the supernatural drama for its eighth season in 2005, admitting that her brief tenure on the show wasn't exactly the highlight of her career.
"You know how sometimes you do so many things," she told Dax Shepard and Monica Padman during a recent appearance on the "Armchair Expert" podcast, "and you just forget about the not-so-great moments?"
As the 40-year-old explained, her first encounter with series regulars Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Holly Marie Combs occurred during a cast photoshoot, which she likened to "walking into someone's family dinner."
"I've never met them—think about that," she said. "I'm joining their family photo, and I'm 21, by the way, at my hottest and coolest. I'm thinking I'm the coolest thing ever, but also terrified."
Upon her arrival, the actress—who shares daughter Matilda, 2, with fiancé Tom Pelphrey—remembered having opposite interactions with her new costars.
"I'm gonna tell you the loveliest story about Alyssa Milano," she shared. "She got up, ran over to me, 'Welcome to the show.' Gave me the biggest hug in the world... Rose, maybe not as happy. I don’t know. I still don’t know if she liked me. But Alyssa was amazing."
Meanwhile, Kaley shared how feeling welcomed by Alyssa taught her the importance of welcoming newcomers when she went on to her lengthy role as Penny on "The Big Bang Theory."
"We were on that show for 12 years," she noted. "So anyone that came in, I was very aware of, 'This must be so weird for you.' So I always remembered that from Alyssa, to this day. I was like that before that, but still got to go the extra mile in a situation like that."
