Joe Rogan Endorses Donald Trump for President

Published: Nov 05 2024

Joe Rogan has lent his voice to the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, tweeting his endorsement on Monday evening. Prior to this, he had shared the complete episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," featuring an enlightening discussion with billionaire tycoon Elon Musk. Rogan's endorsement tweet on platform X read, "The magnificent and formidable @elonmusk—without him, we'd be in a pickle. He's laid out the most persuasive argument for Trump you'll ever hear, and I'm in complete agreement with him throughout. Let it be clear: this is my endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast!"

Also on Monday night, Musk, via a post on X, canceled a planned Q&A session supporting Trump and steered his followers towards his conversation with Rogan.

Previously, Rogan had been an outspoken advocate for third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a long-time guest on JRE, although he hadn't officially backed him for president. On August 8, Rogan stated that Kennedy was "the only one who makes sense to me." The next day, Trump retaliated against Rogan on Truth Social, writing, "It will be intriguing to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets booed the next time he steps into the UFC ring??? MAGA2024." On August 23, Kennedy withdrew from the race and endorsed Trump.

Rumor had it that Rogan might endorse Kamala Harris, and the podcaster had been diligently working to get both candidates on JRE, with both campaigns receptive to the idea as they sought a broader reach through podcasts, rather than sticking solely to traditional newspaper and TV interviews.

On October 26, Trump made an appearance on JRE, engaging in a lengthy and meandering three-hour conversation with Rogan. Harris, however, hasn't been on JRE yet, despite Rogan's assertions of attempts to secure her presence. Last week, Rogan made a rare public statement about the negotiations for a podcast guest, posting about the reasons Harris hadn't been on his show.

According to Rogan, Harris' team wanted him to fly to New York to interview the presidential candidate, with the interview limited to one hour. "For clarity, the Harris campaign hasn't passed on doing the podcast," Rogan clarified in a comment on X. "They proposed a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her, and they only wanted an hour. I firmly believe that the best way to do it is in our Austin studio. My heartfelt hope is to have a pleasant conversation and get to know her as a person. I sincerely wish we can make it happen."
