Johnny Depp has resolutely chosen to refrain from nurturing hatred within his heart, despite the tumultuous events that unfolded between him and Amber Heard. Their relationship came to an end in 2016, but the real tempest arose when Heard penned her allegations of abuse. Though she refrained from mentioning Depp by name, the damage was irrevocably done. In response, Depp took her to court over her assertions, thereby catapulting their conflict into the public eye. Nevertheless, he insists that he is not tethered to the past and harbors no lingering resentment.

In a heartfelt conversation with The Telegraph, Depp revealed, "It may sound cliché, but harboring hate only serves to poison one's mind with malice." This sentiment evokes thoughts of revenge, yet he goes on to emphasize, "Holding onto hatred is a burdensome responsibility." Depp further elaborates, "The stark reality is that to harbor hate, one must first care. And I simply do not. Why should I care about wrongs done to me when countless others endure similar injustices?"

When discussing his decision to litigate the matter, Depp emphasizes that he could not remain idle while a falsehood threatened to undermine his career in Hollywood. He was steadfast in his resolve not to allow a fabricated narrative to dictate his worth in the industry.

However, the Hollywood legend also acknowledges the profound lessons he has gleaned from the past few years. He adds, "Navigating through that tempestuous period spanned seven or eight years—a grueling, soul-wrenching journey. Would I prefer to have bypassed such an ordeal? Undoubtedly. Yet, the insights I gained are beyond what I ever imagined possible."

Depp once likened his Hollywood exile during his legal battles to a state of disorientation and aimlessness. Yet, despite everything, he maintains an unbitter heart towards anyone involved.
