Jonathan Bailey Seemingly Reveals Relationship Status

Published: Jul 08 2025

Jonathan Bailey seemingly steps into the dating scene with renewed vigor. The charming star of "Jurassic World: Rebirth" subtly hinted at his singleton status when Amelia Dimoldenberg, the host of "Chicken Shop Date," inquired about his availability for romantic pursuits. "I'm available," Jonathan disclosed during the July 4th episode of the web series, adding with a hint of humor, "It's just, I think it's in my DNA."

Despite winning hearts on screen, the 37-year-old actor, who bravely came out as gay in 2018, admitted that his role in the hit Netflix series "Bridgerton" hasn't exactly smoothed the path to real-life romance. "It's a fantasy, isn't it?" he mused about the series, emphasizing, "Romance thrives on solid ground and real connections."

While Jonathan refrained from spilling any specific beans about his dating escapades, he did hint at his single status last year while sharing his thoughts on parenting with a potential partner. "I want to ensure I'm fully present," he confessed to British Vogue in December, revealing, "I'm delving into books on adoption. I might co-parent with a woman, but I'm leaning towards the idea of it being with a man."

However, the talented actor from "Wicked" swiftly put an end to further probing into his relationship status, firmly stating, "I'm not discussing that."

Jonathan was unreserved, however, when it came to discussing his experiences within the LGBTQ+ community, including the challenging moment he faced when attempting to come out to his grade school friends. "It was a conversation I yearned for, hoping everyone else was on the same wavelength," he recounted. "But silence enveloped the room."

He also recounted a hurtful remark from a former teacher during those years, sharing, "When I struggled with my schoolwork, he snapped, 'Well, if you weren't so distracted being a fairy, you'd understand.'"

Despite these trying times, Jonathan has embraced his identity with unwavering confidence. "I reached a breaking point where I thought, 'Screw this,'" he declared to GQ in 2022. "I'd rather hold my boyfriend's hand in public, or use my own picture on Tinder without worrying about the repercussions, than focusing solely on landing a role."
