Last week, the eagerly awaited title of the next installment in the Knives Out franchise was revealed, and it has already attracted some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny have signed on to join Daniel Craig in the upcoming mystery thriller, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Rian Johnson, the mastermind behind the series, is returning to helm the project from his own script. Johnson will also produce the film alongside his partner, Ram Bergman, under their production banner T-Street Pictures.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but with the latest installment, Glass Onion, having bowed in 2022, fans are eager to see what new mysteries and twists Johnson has cooked up for this third installment. Craig reprises his role as the world-renowned detective Benoit Blanc, who is sure to bring his unique blend of wit and deduction to the screen once again.
Production is set to commence next month, and the film is slated for a release sometime in 2025. In the meantime, fans can look forward to seeing O'Connor and Spaeny bring their talents to the Knives Out universe.
O'Connor, who is known for his Emmy-winning portrayal of Prince Charles in The Crown and his breakout role in God's Own Country, can currently be seen starring in Luca Guadagnino's Challengers alongside Zendaya and Mike Faist. He will also be seen in the upcoming film The History of Sound, starring alongside Paul Mescal.
Meanwhile, Spaeny has been busy with a string of notable roles. She recently starred as Elvis Presley's wife Priscilla Presley in Sofia Coppola's Priscilla and also appeared in the hit A24 movie Civil War directed by Alex Garland. Next up, she will star in 20th Century's latest Alien movie, Alien: Romulus.
With such a talented cast and a director who has proven his mettle with the Knives Out franchise, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is sure to be a thriller that keeps audiences guessing until the very end.
