Kanye West, now known as Ye, has made the difficult decision to postpone his upcoming performance in Marseille, France, as the country's leadership continues to weigh the possibility of banning the rapper from entering the country. "After much contemplation and consideration, it has become my sole decision to reschedule my show in Marseille, France, until further notice," Ye wrote on X on Tuesday night. He was initially slated to perform at Stade Vélodrome on June 11 as part of his 2026 comeback tour.
In a subsequent post, he added, "I understand it takes time to grasp the sincerity of my commitment to making amends. I take full responsibility for my actions, but I don't want to place my fans in the middle of this. My fans are everything to me. I eagerly look forward to our next encounters. See you at the pinnacle of the world."

Earlier on Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter reported that France was considering a potential ban on the "Flashing Lights" artist from performing in the country. Marseille Mayor Benoît Payan and French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez argued that West had no place in France following his past antisemitic remarks and the release of a song last year titled "Heil Hitler."
This news followed closely on the heels of West being barred from entering the United Kingdom shortly after being announced as the headliner for all three nights of Wireless Festival in July. Following his booking, several major sponsors withdrew from the music festival, which was subsequently canceled.
The "Heartless" artist has faced widespread condemnation for his antisemitic rhetoric in recent years. In addition to his "Heil Hitler" song, he also used a Super Bowl ad in 2025 to direct viewers to his Yeezy website that featured t-shirts emblazoned with swastikas.
Earlier this year, West apologized for his antisemitic statements in an ad in the Wall Street Journal, but he hasn't addressed the controversy any further. The rapper hasn't shared any details regarding whether the France show will be rescheduled to a later date.
