Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, finds herself in the midst of a poignant ordeal while valiantly defending her honor. Roughly three months after the tragic demise of the One Direction crooner, who succumbed to a fatal plunge from a hotel balcony in Argentina, Kate has spoken out about the cruel remarks she claims to have endured following his untimely demise. More precisely, the model recounted receiving death threats and harsh criticisms regarding her attire at his funeral in November, with certain users scrutinizing her makeup and accusing her of seeking public attention.
"I yearned to appear radiant for my boyfriend, one final time," Kate confided to The Sun in an article released on February 6. "It's how he would have wanted to see me, and it's how I longed for him to remember me."
However, as the 25-year-old influencer revealed, she manages to steer through the negativity by recalling the late singer's words of wisdom to her. "Liam would have wanted me to be as resilient as I could be, with a heart impervious to criticism," she disclosed to the publication. "This is a lesson he consistently imparted to me. He grew up amidst the spotlight and always maintained a positive outlook, saying, 'Don't let any hatred penetrate your being.'"
Kate acknowledged that she could empathize with the sentiments of some fans. "I comprehend that some of the more malicious comments stem from a place of profound love, concern, and affection for Liam," she elucidated. "So, I understand because I share that love for Liam too. Yet, it's undeniably challenging because any form of criticism inevitably affects one."
Earlier this week, Kate also provided a glimpse into the couple's final moments together, highlighting that Liam was "in such a serene mindset" when she departed Argentina prior to his tragic end. "We were in such a blissful phase, enveloped in immense love; he was overtly joyful and optimistic," she revealed to The Sun in an article published on February 5. "And I still can't fathom how drastically things concluded."
