Exclusive from TheWrap: "The Bachelorette" is pressing pause on romance this year. ABC's long-standing reality dating series will take a detour from its traditional production schedule, signifying that Season 22 will not debut in its accustomed July timeframe. However, fret not, fans! While "The Bachelorette" remains on hiatus, its cancellation is not in sight; albeit, as of our latest update, a specific return date has yet to be announced.

This isn't the first time the show has granted itself a well-deserved break; it previously skipped the years 2006 and 2007 entirely. Similarly, other shows within the expansive "Bachelor" franchise have also taken timeouts, most notably "Bachelor in Paradise," which bypassed 2024 altogether. Season 9 of "Bachelor in Paradise" premiered in September 2023, and the eagerly anticipated 10th season is slated to air sometime this year.

ABC has yet to disclose the reasoning behind "The Bachelorette's" temporary absence. It's worth noting, however, that the network's decision to halt "Paradise" was aligned with their strategy to focus on the highly popular "Golden" spinoffs. Meanwhile, the "Bachelor" universe continues to thrive, currently in the midst of its 29th season of "The Bachelor," which premiered just two weeks ago.
