According to PEOPLE, the renowned pop star and the former Canadian prime minister dined together at Le Violon, a cozy neighborhood restaurant in Montréal, on Monday, July 28th. This cozy gathering occurred just a month after Perry had ended her engagement to Orlando Bloom.
The 40-year-old Perry and the 53-year-old Trudeau were seen savoring their meal at the restaurant, which PEOPLE has confirmed. The duo also met with Chef Danny Smiles during their dining experience and afterward, headed to the kitchen to personally thank the staff for their wonderful service.
TMZ reported that Perry and Trudeau indulged in cocktails and an array of delicious dishes, including a lobster specialty. Perry's representative remained tight-lipped about the encounter, and PEOPLE made attempts to reach Trudeau for his comments as well.
In June, PEOPLE had confirmed that Perry and Bloom, 48, had called it quits after nine years of an intermittent romance and six years following Bloom's proposal. Their reps later issued a statement, revealing that the couple had been transitioning their relationship to focus more on co-parenting their 4½-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, who remained their top priority.

Trudeau wrote, "Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share that after numerous meaningful and challenging conversations, we have decided to separate." He further added, "As always, we remain a close-knit family, with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build.
