Keanu Reeves' longtime girlfriend is stepping forward to dispel rumors that she and the renowned actor have exchanged vows. In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Alexandra Grant, Reeves' partner, tackled the swirling speculation headfirst. The post showcased a candid photograph of the couple sharing a kiss during their visit to Roden Crater, an intriguing art installation nestled in Arizona.
"This is a genuine photograph," Grant penned in the caption. "Not an engagement snapshot or an AI-generated wedding announcement... just a simple kiss! (Though, judging by the slightly whimsical expressions on our faces, it might be the moment just before or after!) We're at Roden Crater, and Keanu and Gard had just wrapped up an interview with James Turrell for Visionaries."
"I'm sharing this here to extend my gratitude to everyone for the warm congratulations on our supposed wedding. But here's the thing: we didn't tie the knot. While good news is certainly welcome these days, this particular tidbit is still fake news, so tread carefully out there! So, here's a slice of authentic joy! A real photo captured by Brian Skope."
Rumors of the couple's nuptials first surfaced in June 2025, when Grant was seen sporting a ring on her finger as she walked the red carpet alongside Reeves at the premiere of "Ballerina." Earlier this week, Radar Online fueled the fire by reporting that the two had exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Europe. However, in addition to Grant's clarifying Instagram post, a representative for the actor confirmed to People magazine, "It's not true. They are not married."
The pair made their relationship public in November 2019, when they made a striking appearance together on the red carpet at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles. A source close to the couple told People at the time that Reeves "is extremely happy and grateful to have Alex in his life."
"The wonderful thing about falling in love as an adult is that I had already established my own career by the time our relationship blossomed," Grant shared with People in September 2023. "I feel incredibly confident in our relationship, whether I'm on the red carpet with him or walking it alone."
"He's such an inspiration to me," she continued. "He's incredibly creative and kind. He works tirelessly. Making a film requires the collaboration of hundreds of people. Being an artist, though, you don't need that. You just need yourself. You need a community to share your work with the world, but not to create it. I think part of what inspires me is the contrast in scale."
Since going public with their relationship, the couple has been spotted together on numerous red carpets and has frequently been photographed enjoying intimate date nights. They reportedly first crossed paths in 2009 at a dinner party and later joined forces on several artistic endeavors, including Reeves' books, "Ode to Happiness" and "Shadows."
