Kelly Clarkson Shares Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Is Sick, Postpones Las Vegas Shows

Kelly Clarkson finds herself compelled to prioritize her family's needs amidst her bustling schedule. The soulful artist behind the hit "Since U Been Gone" revealed on Instagram on August 6th that she had to rearrange the remaining dates of her August Studio Session concerts at Las Vegas' grand Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The heart-wrenching reason behind this decision is the undisclosed health battle her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is facing. They share custody of their beloved children, River Rose, 11, and Remington "Remy" Alexander, 8.

"Regrettably, I must postpone the rest of my August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas," penned Kelly with sincerity. "Although I usually cherish my privacy, over the past year, the father of my children has been gravely ill, and now, more than ever, I need to be wholeheartedly present for them."

Although the 43-year-old songstress didn't disclose when the rescheduled concerts would take place, Ticketmaster's website has already listed new dates for 2026.

"I extend my heartfelt apologies to all who have purchased tickets to these shows," added Kelly, who embarked on her residency in July. "I am profoundly grateful for your leniency, kindness, and understanding. This isn't the first instance where Kelly has had to make last-minute adjustments to her concert series. Just last month, the seasoned American Idol alumni abruptly canceled two concerts due to vocal strain.

"The rigorous preparation and rehearsals have taken a heavy toll on my voice," she admitted in an Instagram statement on July 4th, mere hours before she was set to perform. "I strive for perfection for all of you and must safeguard myself from causing grave damage. Therefore, I'm taking this weekend and next week to recuperate, ensuring we deliver the incredible show you all deserve."

Returning to the stage the following week, Kelly offered her sincere apologies. "I acknowledge that some of you had tickets for last weekend's performances," the host of The Kelly Clarkson Show addressed her audience through a TikTok video on July 11th. "I'm truly sorry. Sometimes, our bodies betray us. Illnesses strike, and it's beyond our control."

"But thank you for still showing up," she continued warmly. "We're thrilled. This residency, this show, is my favorite because I adore being in the studio."
