A poignant moment on stage left Katy Perry howling in agony. As she pressed on with the Canadian stretch of her Lifetimes Tour, the "Firework" crooner offered a poignant glimpse into her recent life episodes, highlighting a concert mishap that left her kneecap drenched in blood.
On August 6, Katy shared a vivid snapshot on Instagram, depicting a gaping, bloody wound on her right kneecap while her legs languidly rested on the edge of a bathtub. Surrounding her knee were circular bruises, painting a picture of her ordeal.
"It was supposed to be a thrilling kneeslide moment that usually elicits 'ahhh's, but instead, it evoked an 'arghh' from me," she texted her friend in the subsequent slide, referencing her hit "Teenage Dream."
The post also captured tender moments, featuring a snapshot of Katy with her daughter Daisy, aged four, from her past relationship with Orlando Bloom, along with an adorable video of the toddler staging a puppet show. The former American Idol judge simply captioned the post, "Our tour rolls on."
However, Katy's knee injury was just one of several recent mishaps during her Lifetimes Tour. Mere days before her Instagram post, the 40-year-old came to the rescue of a young fan named McKenna, who fainted shortly after being invited on stage to perform alongside her.
In a video shared on social media, Katy stayed by McKenna's side as medical personnel attended to her. Later in the concert, she reassuringly informed the audience, "McKenna's doing great, by the way."
Last month, during her San Francisco concert, the "California Gurls" sensation experienced another unexpected and nearly perilous incident. While soaring above the crowd atop a massive mechanical butterfly, the prop unexpectedly plunged a few feet. Fortunately, Katy remained steady, and no one was harmed.
After the concert, Katy lightheartedly brushed off the harrowing gaffe by sharing a close-up image of her horrified reaction on Instagram, captioning it, "Goodnight, San Francisco."
