Kelly Osbourne is engulfed in profound sorrow over the tragic loss of her cherished father, Ozzy Osbourne. On July 24th, mere days following the heart-wrenching demise of the legendary Black Sabbath frontman at the age of 76, Kelly shared an emotional tribute on her Instagram Story, borrowing poignant lyrics from his 1972 hit "Changes." The 40-year-old pensively wrote, "I am drowning in grief, my heart heavy with ache. I have bid farewell to the finest friend I have ever known."
Just prior to Ozzy's demise, Kelly, who starred alongside her father, mother Sharon Osbourne, 72, and brother Jack Osbourne, 39, in the MTV reality series The Osbournes from 2002 to 2005, addressed online rumors suggesting the heavy metal legend's health was declining. On July 11, she took to her Instagram Stories to clarify, "A video is circulating on social media, purportedly of my dad, but it's AI-generated. It features a voice that mimics my dad's, akin to David Attenborough's, saying, ‘I don't need a doctor to tell me I'm going to die. I know I'm going to die.’" Kelly then lambasted the creators of the viral video and unequivocally stated that her father "wasn't dying."
"Granted, he has Parkinson's, and his mobility has drastically changed," she conceded, "but he's not dying. What possesses you to spread such falsehoods?"
The singer of "Changes" also refuted rumors of a suicide pact between Ozzy and Sharon, who tied the knot in 1982 and are also parents to Aimee Osbourne, 41. These rumors had surfaced due to comments Sharon made to The Mirror in 2017. "Cease writing articles or posting about my parents supposedly having a suicide pact," Kelly declared. "That was a one-time comment my mom made for attention. My dad isn't dying. Enough is enough."
During Ozzy's final Black Sabbath concert earlier this month, Kelly shared a poignant family moment as her partner, Sid Wilson, father of their 2-year-old son Sidney, proposed to her backstage. However, the Grammy Award winner, true to his humorous nature, joked, "Get lost, you're not marrying my daughter," as Sid began to pop the question.
In his twilight years, Ozzy battled numerous health issues, including Parkinson's disease, which he publicly disclosed in 2020. Two years hence, he underwent what Sharon described as a "life-altering surgery."
After his passing, his family expressed their profound sorrow, stating, "Words fail to capture our grief. He was surrounded by his loved ones. We request everyone to respect our privacy during this difficult time."
