Khloé Kardashian Reveals She's Stopped Photoshopping Her Pictures As Much, Says She Used to Look Like a 'Cartoon': 'It's Humiliating'

Khloé Kardashian has bid farewell to her Photoshop obsession. During the July 17th episode of her podcast, "Khloé in Wonderland," the 41-year-old reality TV star from "The Kardashians" admitted that there was once a time when she "wouldn't dream of posting a photo without heavy Photoshopping," but those days are now behind her.

The podcast episode saw the co-founder of Good American tackle various rumors and claims about her famous family, including the notion that she "Photoshops every picture" she uploads. "I don't," Kardashian responded emphatically. "But there was a period when I absolutely did. I was surrounded by people who made me feel like I needed to. And I believe it was also a reflection of the era. It felt like everyone was Photoshopping their photos, often to a much greater extent than they do now."

"There was a time when we were all caught up in this filtered lifestyle, unable to see ourselves without one," she continued. "There are still days when I think, 'Ugh, I need a filter.' I don't feel good about myself. But I'm on video, and I prefer how I look in motion to stills."

The reality star went on to confess that she doesn't consider herself the most photogenic. "I'll take 500 photos to get the one I like," she admitted. "And that's perfectly fine. I'm entitled to do that. But I must say, there was a time when I was heavily reliant on Photoshop."

Kardashian then revealed that she looked like a "cartoon character" in her older photos. "It's embarrassing to think that I once believed that was a real version of myself," she said. "I regret thinking I needed to look like that. I was surrounded by people who did the same thing. If they took my photo, they'd edit it to look that way before showing it to me. And I'd think that's how I looked. When paparazzi took my picture, I'd think, 'I don't look like that. I look like this photo.' I had to retrain my mind to realize that filters aren't real. They don't reflect how I actually look. I didn't want to look like that anymore. It was a bizarre time."

As a mother of two, Kardashian admitted that she was once "deeply entrenched in the world of filters, making my face look a way it wasn't. But now, no more." She then shared how she now captures great photos for social media. "I prefer good lighting," she explained. "I definitely take more controlled photos with good lighting, and I might snap a lot to get the ones I like. But I don't have to Photoshop every single one."

Over the years, Kardashian has frequently been accused by fans of Photoshopping her pictures. In 2018, when she posted a heartfelt Instagram tribute to her mother, Kris Jenner, praising her for being "strong and fabulous," some users quickly accused her of Photoshopping the image.

In response to a user who wondered if Kardashian would even "keep Instagram if all photo editing apps disappeared forever," Kardashian responded, "Would you?" She continued, "Sometimes I wonder why people comment if it doesn't add any value to their or anyone else's life. Maybe I'm just different... but I don't care to be negative or passive-aggressive. Our world is toxic enough as it is. It's sad that people criticize something as innocent as a photo editing app."

"Let it go, babe," she added. "Say something nice or just let it go. Don't contribute to the hatred in our world."

Kardashian's Photoshop confession follows her candid revelation about the cosmetic surgeries she has undergone. Last month, in response to a comment on Instagram, she broke down every procedure she has had, including a nose job, Botox and fillers, along with "collagen baby threads" under her chin. She also mentioned losing 80 pounds "over the years."
