The carpet doesn't necessarily need to harmonize with the drapes. Kim Kardashian's SKIMS shapewear empire has just unveiled its most audacious offering yet: a collection of faux pubic hair string micro thongs, available in a trio of hair colors—red, blonde, and brunette—and two distinct textures, straight and curly.
"How hilarious are these?" Kim queried her followers in an Instagram Story on October 14, proudly displaying a few samples of the new panties. "We've got an array of colors, different hair types. This is absolutely bonkers. Skims, baby."
Unsurprisingly, Kim's devotees were left astounded by the synthetic body hair accessory. The product, touted on the SKIMS website as the brand's "most daring panty yet," nearly sold out across all sizes and styles within mere hours of its debut.
However, other social media users who witnessed the launch were somewhat less enamored. As one fan penned in an October 14 post on X, "Kim Kardashian has completely lost her marbles with these new underwear."
"Oh, Kim can't possibly be serious," another chimed in on X, alongside a screenshot of the product. "BUSH PANTIES???"
Of course, this isn't the first time Kim has stirred up controversy with a SKIMS product. In July, she unveiled a line of face wraps, or the brand's "first-ever face innovation."
"We're going to introduce some truly remarkable face shapewear, which is an absolute must-have," Kim declared in an Instagram Story at the time. "It just tightens up your little chinny chin chin with the jaw, and it's incredibly comfortable to wear at night or just lounging around the house."
While many fans pointed out that the wrap wouldn't do much to sculpt one's face, another suggested that the product could be a godsend for those suffering from temporomandibular joint disorders, quipping, "Those who are hating clearly don't know what TMJ feels like."
And in May, the shapewear brand launched a bra adorned with faux pierced nipples—an upgrade from its 2023 nipple bra line.
As one fan wrote on X in response to the product at the time, "Skims is slowly morphing into a social experiment."
Another joked, "She's running out of things to sell us."
