Kim Kardashian Reveals Why She Doesn’t “Believe in Homework”

Published: Sep 03 2025

Kim Kardashian is opening up about her perspectives on the education system, revealing some intriguing insights. The Kardashian clan's star, who co-parents North West, 12, Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 7, and Psalm West, 5, with her ex-husband Kanye "Ye" West, has admitted that she doesn't "subscribe to the idea of homework."

"Let me explain why," Kim elaborated during a recent appearance on Kai Cenat's Mafiathon 3 livestream. "Children are already in school for eight hours each day." The 44-year-old further stressed that her children's days are already packed with academic responsibilities.

"Once they return home, they engage in sports, lead their own lives, and bond with their family," she continued. "I genuinely believe that homework should remain within the confines of the school."

Beyond Kim's latest contentious stance on education, her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian have also expressed some unconventional views of their own.

Indeed, Kourtney, who shares Mason Disick, 15, Penelope Disick, 13, and Reign Disick, 10, with her ex Scott Disick, as well as Rocky Barker, 22 months, with Travis Barker, recently elaborated on why she feels that attending traditional school is "so outdated."

"I love going against the grain," she told Khloe during a May episode of her Khloe in Wonder Land podcast. "Living authentically means not conforming to the norm. It's like if someone does the same thing every day—I apply this thinking to everything, not just our family. For instance, when it comes to the school system, I find myself wondering, 'Why do kids even go to school?' Truthfully, it's so outdated."

And Kourtney wasn't alone in contemplating homeschooling her children, as Khloe—who shares True Thompson, 7, and Tatum Thompson, 3, with Tristan Thompson—confirmed that she too is "a proponent of homeschooling."

While the renowned family might have some controversial opinions surrounding education, Kim recently marked a significant academic achievement of her own: graduating from law school.

After six years of rigorous legal training, the reality star celebrated with a intimate commencement ceremony attended by family and friends, including her close friend Van Jones. The celebration even featured table settings crafted from her old study notes.

"All of you have been with me on this journey," Kim said in her graduation speech on May 21, which she shared on her Instagram Stories. "It all began with Van and me. Well, actually, it started with a Twitter video that popped up."

Expressing her astonishment at the state of the legal system at the time, Kim delved into criminal justice reform, which prompted her to enroll in a four-year apprenticeship with a San Francisco law firm in 2018 and eventually pass the bar exam in 2021.

And once her 5,184 hours of legal studies finally bore fruit, her family was thrilled to see her follow in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

"This was years in the making," Khloe gushed on her own Instagram Stories at the time. "It was such an incredible accomplishment, and I'm so proud. It was truly inspiring and motivating."
