Kim Kardashian found herself embroiled in a controversy after bestowing a shocking gift upon her four children, igniting the ire of Ingrid Newkirk, the founder of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The SKIMS mogul was slammed for presenting each of her four kids with a puppy as a Christmas present, which Ingrid bluntly called out in an interview with the Daily Mail on Sunday.

"Puppies are not plushies, and it's a damn shame that Kim missed the opportunity to be a spokesperson for shelter pups," Ingrid exclaimed. "Instead, she's rightly being slammed on social media for her thoughtless act." The PETA founder further stated that ignoring the homeless animal crisis was "inexcusably callous," urging the reality star to "call PETA or a local shelter the next time [she] wants to bring an animal into [her] home."
Ingrid added that the Kardashians star could "make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis." The uproar erupted after Kim posted a snap of four puppies on her Instagram Stories on Christmas Day, captioning it, "Each kid got a puppy."
For those who might not be aware, Kim is a proud mother of four children: North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, whom she welcomed with her ex-partner Kanye West.
