Gene Simmons is sending a reassuring health update to his anxious fans. The co-founder of Kiss has addressed the harrowing car crash in Malibu, California, that landed him in temporary hospitalization earlier this week.
"Thanks, everyone, for the kind wishes," Simmons, 76, shared via X on Wednesday, October 9. "I’m completely fine."
"I had a slight fender bender," he explained. "It happens. Especially to those of us who are terrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well."
Meanwhile, the "God of Thunder" rocker’s worried fans flocked to the comments section to express their relief that Simmons is "completely fine" following the incident.
"Glad to hear you are okay, Gene," one person tweeted.
"Best wishes to you, my friend. I was so worried when I heard about it. Please be careful out there," added another.
"Gene, glad you’re okay. You should be flying in the front of planes and riding in the back of cars anyway. You’ve earned it," commented a third, while a fourth shared, "Glad you’re doing okay!"
NBC4 Los Angeles first reported that Simmons was hospitalized following a car crash in Malibu on Tuesday. The Kiss legend told police that he had either "passed out or fainted" while behind the wheel of his SUV before it collided with a parked car on the Pacific Coast Highway, according to the outlet.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Department, meanwhile, told The Post that there was an accident matching the description of the Kiss bassist’s crash. However, they could not confirm the identity of the driver involved.
The spokesperson revealed that the crash occurred in the 25600 block of the PCH shortly before 1 p.m. and involved "a black Lincoln Navigator" that "struck a parked vehicle."
The driver "might have suffered a medical emergency before the crash," they said, and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
NBC4 later identified the driver as Simmons and further reported that his SUV "careened across several lanes of traffic" before colliding with the parked car.
Shannon Tweed, the wife of the "Rock and Roll All Nite" crooner, told the outlet that her husband had been released from the hospital and was recovering at home.
The Post reached out to Simmons’ representative for comment.
But Simmons isn’t the only Kiss alum left recovering from a concerning incident this week. Ace Frehley, the band’s co-founder and former guitarist, recently canceled the remaining dates of his 2025 tour due to "ongoing medical issues" following a fall that left him hospitalized.
Frehley, 74, had announced last month that he couldn’t make a previously scheduled performance in California because he suffered "a minor fall in his studio" that resulted in "a trip to the hospital."
The beloved rock band, originally comprised of Simmons, Frehley, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss, is set to reunite to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a festival, Kiss Kruise: Land-Locked in Vegas, next month.
Scheduled for November 14-16 in the Entertainment Capital of the World, the three-day event will mark the group’s first performance since they announced their retirement from touring in 2023.
